Vesper Services (“Vesper”), an industry-leading workers compensation General Agency, was created to support Vesper Risk, a specialized underwriting company that optimizes underwriting expertise with cutting edge technology. Launched in late 2023, Vesper drives bottom line results by performing nearly all aspects of insurance operations from policy administration through policy audit, ensuring positive outcomes for its partners whether that be the carrier partner, the agent, or the insured.

Brad St. Pierre
Co-President

Brad St. Pierre has deep experience in the workers’ compensation market, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Clear Spring Property and Casualty Group and principal of a consulting practice focusing on this industry. His extensive experience encompasses insurance management, regulatory issues, loss reserve studies, ratemaking, and even expert witness testimony. Brad is a distinguished Fellow of the Casualty Actuary Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Derek Schaff
Co-President

Derek Schaff has more than 20 years of experience in property and casualty insurance. Prior to his current role, he was Vice President of Data Science at Clear Spring Property and Casualty Group and has an impressive record of applying analytics to insurance pricing at NCCI and non-standard auto carriers. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuary Society.

Nicole Beal
COO

Nicole has over 20 years of experience as a property and casualty insurance industry professional. Over the years, Nicole has provided analytical and operational expertise for multinational insurance companies, managing general agents and software vendors within the property and casualty sector. She has led business development and delivery of a diverse set of specialty niche-market and varied commercial lines products.

James Purvis
Group 1001

James Purvis has more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry. James previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Delaware Life Insurance Company as well as several other entities within the Group 1001 organization.

He joined Group 1001 as part of the initial transaction from Sun Life and also served as COO of Guggenheim Life and Annuity and as a managing director of Guggenheim Partners. His 30-plus years of industry experience includes a variety of accounting, financial reporting and operations roles in the life and annuity, investments and property and casualty fields.
